What is editing and how does it differ from proofreading?
When copy-editing, we not only check your text for spelling, grammar and punctuation, but also for style, expression, comprehensibility, logic and text structure. Proofreading focuses exclusively on the formal correction of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
What types of texts do you edit?
Among other things, we edit
- Academic papers (term papers, bachelor theses, master theses, diploma theses, dissertations)
- Business texts (reports, websites, marketing materials)
- Works of fiction (novels, short stories)
- Non-fiction and specialised texts
How does editing and proofreading work?
- You send us your text and tell us what you want.
- We check the text and prepare a customised quote.
- After your confirmation, we will edit the text within the agreed deadline.
- You will receive the edited version together with an overview of the changes made.
How long does the editing process take?
The editing time depends on the length and quality of the source text. As a rule, editing of 20 to 60 pages takes around 3 to 5 working days. Express editing is possible by special arrangement.
How much does editing and proofreading cost?
The price depends on the type of text, the volume and the desired scope of services. Here is our general price overview:
Prices for Business Customers (B2B)
- Proofreading: €4.00 per standard page
- Copy-editing: €7.00 per standard page
Prices for students (B2C)
- Proofreading: €1.60 per standard page
- Copy-editing: €2.40 per standard page
Prices for Private Customers (B2C)
- Proofreading: €2.75 per standard page
- Copy-editing: €4.00 per standard page
How is the correction carried out?
Corrections are made in Word in ‘Track Changes’ mode. This allows you to track all changes and accept or reject them.
In PDF files, we use the comment functions provided.
How can I submit my text?
Preferably by e-mail in Word or PDF format. We generally recommend Word for scientific papers. We will confirm receipt and send you a confirmation with the agreed delivery date.
Will my text be kept confidential?
Yes, of course. We keep all submitted texts strictly confidential and do not pass on any content to third parties. We will be happy to provide you with a confidentiality agreement on request.
Do you also offer plagiarism checks?
Yes, on request we can carry out a plagiarism check and provide you with a report. This service is offered separately.
